How Diet Effects Snoring

In this article we will discuss how what you eat, and your diet in general, can have a big effect on whether you snore or not.

It can also change how severe your snore is while you’re sleeping.

By the end of this article, you will have learned several tips which can help you reduce your snoring through changing your diet.

Firstly, being overweight can cause you to snore, due to the excess fat deposits in your body – which will also restrict your airways to some degree.

By changing your diet and following a proven weight loss program you will lose weight, which will in turn reduce your snoring. However, weight loss is a long-term solution. There are several other things you can do for quicker results, which simply involve changing what you eat.

The first diet change you can try is dairy products. Specifically, avoiding milk (and other dairy products) before you go to bed. You may like to try avoiding any dairy products up to 4 hours before you go to bed. This will make sure it isn’t affecting you when you go to sleep.

Why might this help? Well, dairy products cause your body to produce more mucus. And this music will restrict the airflow in your airways and cause you to snore.

Does this mean you have to give up dairy products?

Not exactly. You could easily get into the habit of not eating or drinking dairy products in the evenings. Maybe you could even try soy milk instead. You’ll have to experiment to find what works best for you.

For some people who consume a lot of dairy products during the evening and before they sleep, you may experience better results just by using this tip.
